Yes, the app is free to download and you can generate your first manga art without creating an account. Signed-in users share the same balance as the website: 10 free tokens every month, plus optional one-time token packs. The app also offers in-app purchases through the App Store.
Does the app use the same account as gootaku.com?+
Yes. Sign in with Google or Apple in the app and your projects, saved characters, published creations and token balance are the same on the website and on your phone.
Can I turn my own photo into manga?+
Yes. Photo-to-manga is the app's headline feature: take a selfie or pick an image from your camera roll, choose a style such as chibi, shōnen or cinematic, and the app generates a manga or anime version. Photos are processed to create your image and are not used to train models.
Which formats can I export?+
Manga and comic panels export as images you can save or share; anime video clips export as MP4. Anything you publish to the feed gets a public gootaku.com page you can link from social media.
Is there an Android version?+
The Android app is in development. Until it ships, every maker works in the mobile browser at gootaku.com/studio, and your account will carry over when the Android app launches.
What is the age rating?+
The App Store rating is 9+. All prompts and images pass the same content moderation as the website, and you can report any creation from inside the app.
