Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Gootaku (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates gootaku.com, an AI-powered platform for creating manga, comics, GIFs, and short anime-style videos. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our services. Please read this policy carefully.
Information We Collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect a username, email address, and a password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text). If you sign up or log in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google instead. You can optionally add a display name, avatar, and short bio.
Content you create:Your text prompts, panel descriptions, dialogue, and any reference photos or sketches you upload are sent to our AI generation pipeline (OpenAI's image models, routed through our own backend) to produce your manga, comic, GIF, or video panels. Generated art and any images you upload are stored on our servers. If you publish a creation, its art, title, and tags become visible on the public Explore feed and your profile.
Community activity: Comments, votes, follows, forum posts, and reactions you post are stored and, where public (e.g. the community feed and forum), visible to other users under your username.
Payment information: Token pack purchases are processed by our payment provider, Creem.io. We never see or store your full card number — Creem handles payment details directly and shares only the transaction result (success/failure, amount, pack purchased) with us.
Content moderation: Every prompt is checked by an automated moderation pipeline (keyword filtering and AI-based classification) before it reaches our image generation models. We log moderation decisions (allow/warn/block and the matched category) to enforce our Acceptable Use Policyand to meet our payment provider's compliance requirements.
Automatically collected information:When you visit our site, we automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type, referring URLs, and pages visited. We use Google Analytics and Cloudflare's web analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns, and Sentry to capture technical error reports (which may include the URL and browser state at the time of an error, but not your password or payment details).
Email:We use Resend to send transactional email — sign-up confirmation, purchase receipts, comment notifications, low-token warnings, and a short onboarding series after you sign up. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time (see “Your Choices” below).

You can request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected].
