Wobble Maker — Free Jiggle & Bounce Animation for Anime Art
How to add a wobble/bounce (purupuru) motion effect to hair, ears, ribbons, and accessories on any image — no AI needed, first export free in Studio.
Written by Bugra, founder of Gootaku
If you've spent time in anime fan communities, you already know the effect even if you don't know the name: hair swaying, cat ears bouncing, a ribbon jiggling after a character moves. In Japanese it's called purupuru (プルプル) — a soft, springy wobble that reads as alive without any real physics simulation behind it.
Gootaku's Wobble Maker brings that effect to any image you already have, with no AI generation involved. Your first export is free, and after that it costs 1 token — same as any other Gootaku generation. Here's how it works and how to get good results from it.
---
What Wobble Maker actually does
Wobble Maker is an upload-and-export tool, not an AI generator, and it doesn't ask you to paint or mask anything:
- Upload an image (or generate one first in Gootaku's Manga, Comic, or Character maker)
- Pick a wobble strength (soft, medium, strong) — the whole image wobbles automatically, no brushing or masking required
- Preview it live, then export a looping GIF
---
Why this is free when everything else costs tokens
Gootaku's manga, comic, and GIF makers use AI generation (OpenAI's gpt-image-1), which has a real per-image compute cost — that's what tokens pay for. Wobble Maker doesn't generate anything new; it runs entirely in your browser using canvas rendering, the same way a CSS animation or a JavaScript game runs locally. There's no server round-trip and no AI inference, so there's no cost to charge for. It's free at every account tier, permanently.

Getting good results
Pick source art with a clear focal point. Since the whole image wobbles uniformly now — there's no way to limit motion to just the hair or an accessory — art where the interesting part (hair, ears, a ribbon) dominates the frame reads better than a busy scene with a lot of competing detail moving at once.
Match strength to the image. Soft works well for photos, fine linework, or anything with a lot of detail. Medium is a solid default for most character art. Strong is best used sparingly — it can look great on a simple, bold illustration, but it can turn a detailed or cluttered image into a blur.
Simple, clean art holds up better than busy compositions. Because every part of the frame displaces together, an image with a lot of independent small details (background clutter, fine cross-hatching) can look chaotic once it's all moving. A clean illustration with clear shapes wobbles more convincingly.
Use the live preview before exporting. Toggle preview, watch a couple of loops, and adjust strength before committing to an export — it's instant, so there's no reason to export blind.

Where to use it
- Profile pictures and OC reveals — a subtle hair-wobble GIF is a common, well-liked format for showing off a character
- Manga/comic character teasers — animate a still panel character before you commit to a full scene
- Social posts — a looping wobble GIF is lightweight and reads well as a quick post, without a full video pipeline

FAQ
Do I need tokens to use Wobble Maker? Your first export is free. After that, each export costs 1 token, same as any other Gootaku generation — even though Wobble Maker itself doesn't use AI, the token is just a usage unit like everywhere else on the site.
Can I wobble an image I didn't make in Gootaku? Yes. Upload any image (PNG, JPEG, WebP) and it wobbles automatically — it doesn't need to be a Gootaku generation.
What formats can I export? GIF today. MP4/WebM export is a natural next addition if there's demand — let us know if you need it.
Does my image get uploaded to a server? No — like the underlying technique it's inspired by, Wobble Maker processes everything locally in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to publish the result.
How is this different from a tool like Purupuru Maker? Purupuru Maker is a dedicated standalone wobble tool that's always free with no account needed. Gootaku's version lives inside a full manga/comic/GIF studio — your first export is free, then 1 token per export — and you can generate the character with AI and wobble it without leaving the site or re-uploading anything.
